The year is off to a resilient start for media and technology M&A with 370 deals announced in Q1, marking a 4% year-on-year increase. Activity continues to be fuelled by strategic acquisitions focused on enhancing capabilities and driving integrated, multi-channel growth.
Notable deals included IDHL’s acquisition of The MTM Agency (advised by WY), ITG’s acquisition of PureRed, Vice Media’s acquisition of London Alley Entertainment, and Samy Alliance’s acquisition of Content Lab. Strategic carve-outs also took centre stage – including R/GA’s spin-out from IPG and The Mission Group’s £17m sale of April Six.
While macro headwinds remain, buyers are getting bolder and using M&A to sharpen their edge.
